The day of departure. The rays of the rising sun lit up the streets of Milan. After the night-time gala at La Scala, which brought the International Design Festival to a close, I stopped off at the eclectic Caffè Luce. Empty streets, the city still asleep, the hum of waiters bustling about as they opened nearby restaurants, and the unforgettable scent of cinnamon and vanilla coffee. Inspired by the Festival, where I had the pleasure of admiring contemporary art, I created my most cherished work.

Inspired by the artistic spirit, intoxicated by the beauty of the city, I knew I had to compose a fragrance too, one that would constantly remind me of that moment… Milano Modern Wood.

MILANO Modern Wood is the creator of true art, that unique moment when we know what we live for. The combination of the distinct and bold scent of cardamom with a hint of hot pepper sparks creativity, whilst the delicate notes of violet leaves and fresh sage subtly invigorate, lending the whole a youthful zest. The aroma of vanilla has a relaxing effect on all the senses, whilst the cinnamon and chestnut aroma induces a sense of bliss.

• Top notes: cardamom, violet and bougainvillea leaves, mint, pink pepper
• Heart notes: pineapple, melon, hibiscus
• Base notes: chestnut, ambergris, pine, vanilla
